According to Georgian tradition the Bagartioni dynasty emanates the descendants of King David. Their kingdom began in the 6th Century CE. The year 2020 will mark a century since the cessation of the Georgian monarchy, and many citizens there dream of a return of the monarchy as a symbol of national pride. The prince and his wife will visit Israel parallel to the arrival of the Pazisi Dance Company, comprised primarily of children, for a series of performances at the Karmiel Dance Festival and others throughout Israel.
